15th Edition of BergamoScienza

29 Sep 2017

From 30th September to 15th October, the 15th edition of BergamoScienza will take place in Bergamo. Organized by the Association BergamoScienza, it is an important scientific dissemination festival for Bergamo and for SIAD Group, which has been giving support to it as a structural partner for years now.

For the occasion, Bergamo will be animated by a series of free and open events, like laboratories, conferences, exhibitions, shows and meetings with Nobel Prize winners as well as internationally renowned scientists, who will tackle science and technology issues with a language that is suitable for all ages and in an interdisciplinary way.

The inauguration of the Festival will take place on Saturday 30th September at 5pm at the Donizzetti Theatre, which will finally open its doors again, after its silence due to renovation works. There will be two big Italian scientist on stage: Silvio Garattini, Director of the “Mario Negri” Institute of Pharmacological Research and the physicist Renato Angelo Ricci, Professor Emeritus at the University of Padua. On occasion of the 70 years of their career, the two personalities will have the pleasure of sharing with us their extraordinary experience of a life devoted to science, research and dissemination.

Certainly, there will not miss games and occasions to play, eagerly awaited by the youngest. One of the many playful events will be the one held by Luca Perri, a young astrophysicist, who has become famous thanks to his post published on social networks in which he explains the discovery of gravitational waves in a funny way. The scientist will lead a scientific quiz, which will involve the whole audience.

What about music? It will not miss either! “Science notes” (Note sulla scienza) will host two live concerts, both by prominent artist of the Italian music scene. The first will be by Emanuele Fasano, a young pianist who conquered the web with a viral video of him playing the piano in the middle of the Milan Central Train station. Then will be the turn of Raphael Gualazzi, an Italian jazz pianist and composer, known also on international level.

SIAD Group will sponsor the conference on 13th October, where the main personality will be the 2007 Nobel Prize for Medicine Mario Renato Capecchi, an Italian geneticist and inventor of gene targeting, a technique used to study diseases such as cancer and diabetes.

SIAD Group will also have the pleasure of offering to the participants a unique experience, taking place from 2nd October on, with the organization of the interactive workshop “Full throttle! Let us explore the world of technical gases”. You can participate for free, by registering here. During the workshop, it will be possible to attend curious experiments suitable for all ages, focusing on the properties of gases and their applications in everyday life. In particular, we will discover what "dry ice" and liquid air are and how do they form. Can an object freeze instantly? Come and visit us and you will find out!
