Sestini photographic Archive
The works for the realization of the Sestini photographic Archive project began on April 3, 2018 in the west wing of the cloister of the arches in the Convent of San Francesco. It will take 6 months for the creation of a center of excellence for the conservation, study and enhancement of historical photography.
The project has been possible thanks to the support and contribution of SIAD Fondazione Sestini, which since 2006 has donated about 1 million images at the Museum of the stories of Bergamo.
Thus, a partnership was born between the Municipality of Bergamo, SIAD Fondazione Sestini and the Museum with the shared intention of safeguarding and making available to the community and future generations a heritage of inestimable value.
The Sestini Photographic Archive is a cutting-edge project that aims at 3 objectives: protection of the original photos, digitalization and cataloging of images, enhancement of the heritage with an online portal, exhibitions and educational workshops.
